Our Story
We are the Ely family- Hannah, John & a little one on the way. We have always had a passion for glamping having always stayed in shepherds huts or unusual conversions ourselves so when it came to designing The Cornish Ranch we knew just what we wanted to offer. We were accepted into The Greener Camping Club and opened in 2024. The farm and glampsite are a work in progress and we hope to go from strength to strength to increase what we can offer.
Whether you can technically class us as a farm or not we share our land with many furry and feathered friends. We have three dogs, six cats, a varying amount of chickens, a small flock of heritage Wiltshire horn sheep, the occasional pig and our herd of horses so we can't promise a completely quiet stay but we hope that all the animals will be on their best behaviour when your here .
We try to encourage wildlife and protect nature. We have traditional hay meadows that the sheep will graze late in the year to allow wildlife and nature to thrive. We leave a number of hedges untouched so the wildlife have many places to go and seek shelter or food. The effort we put in pays off as we have an large selection of bluebells, foxgloves, primroses and daffodils come spring. We see deer, rabbits and birds of pray daily. Oh and not forgetting the two owls that like to have a chit chat at dusk.
We support The Greener Camping Club because of their passion for nature and we are part of the clubs "Tree's For Life" scheme where by a tree is planted for every booking that we take
